Billing Information

At Putney Medical Practice we pride ourselves on providing the highest possible standard of health care to our community. To achieve this in today’s environment, it’s not possible to bulk bill everyone. That’s why our billing is changing to Mixed Billing from the 1st of July 2023, meaning a consultation fee will be charged in most cases.

 

Children 18 and under who attend school, Government Concession Card holders, and patient's 68 and older are eligible for bulk billing. Please view the end of the page for prices. Thank you for understanding.

 

You will be asked to pay the full fee on the day of your consultation. However, using your Eftpos card and our Tyro payment system, you will receive your Medicare refund at the time of payment via direct credit into your bank account. Please note that there is a 1% surcharge for all card payments.

Appointments

At Putney Medical Practice we like to keep our waiting times as short as possible. Please assist your doctor in achieving this by making an appointment before you come to the practice. It is best to call the practice as soon as you know you need an appointment so that you can get the time that is most suitable for you. If you require a longer appointment to discuss more than one issue or an appointment for more than one person, please let the receptionist know when you arrange your appointment. Please note that if you require a further appointment after you have seen your doctor it is always a good idea to book before you leave the practice.

For appointments regarding childhood immunisations, please inform reception when you call so they can schedule the appointment with both the doctor and the practice nurse. 

We do accommodate walk-in patients if circumstances allow, however patients may experience long waiting times and may not be able to see their preferred doctor.

Please make all your appointments over the phone. We do not book appointment via email.

 

COVID Booster Vaccine Appointments

Putney Medical Practice is administering the Pfizer Bivalent and Moderna Bivalent booster vaccines. Please follow the instructions below in order to make an appointment with us.

To book an appointment to receive a Pfizer Bivalent or Moderna Bivalent vaccine, please call the practice and our receptionists will help you schedule an appointment. On the day of the appointment, please present the physical Medicare Card to reception as it will ensure the vaccination clinic works efficiently. Please keep in mind that booster vaccinations can only be administered at least 6 months since the last COVID vaccination.

For new patients who have not been to our practice before, please print, complete and bring our Patient Details Form to the appointment.

 

Cancellation of Appointments

We understand that unplanned issues can arise, and you may need to cancel an appointment. Should this occur, we respectfully ask that scheduled appointments be cancelled at least 2 hours in advanced. If this has not been completed, a fee with incur which must be paid before your next consultation with a doctor.

Our doctors and allied health professionals want to be available for your needs and for the needs of all of our patients. When a patient does not show for a scheduled appointment, other patients lose the opportunity to be seen.

 

Pathology

Putney Medical Practice has a Douglas Hanly Moir Pathologist on site. They are in the practice on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 8:30am to 12:30pm. No appointments are needed.

 

Change of Personal Details

Please advise our receptionists prior to your appointment of any change to your personal information as soon as possible. This ensures that the practice can contact you if necessary for any health related matters.

 

Transfer of Medical Records

If you would like your medical records transferred from your previous GP to us, please complete the Transfer of Medical Records Form. Please email the completed form to Putney Medical Practice or hand it to reception staff in order for us to process the application.

 

Patient Confidentiality

Please be advised that due to patient confidentiality, Putney Medical Practice will not release personal information over the phone to anyone other than the patient who is aged 14 and above. This includes information regarding booked appointments and any changes that may be required.

 

Test Results

In most cases you must book an appointment to get your results and not request them over the phone unless otherwise instructed by the doctor. Most test results will be available after 48 hours, please make an appointment after that to discuss your results with the doctor.

 

Recall/Reminder Service

Our practice is committed to preventative care. You have the option of registering to receive reminder notices regarding health care services. If you would like to do this please inform your doctor.

 

Interpreter Services

If you or your family require an interpreter we can organise this for you. Please let us know when you ring to make your appointment. Alternatively, you can contact the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131 450.

If you are hearing impaired and require an AUSLAN Interpreter we can also organise this for you.
